- Recovery - Furnish all labor, material, equipment and supervision to 'Renovate Inpatient Ward', Project No. 626-08-103 at the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, VA Medical Center, 1310 24th Ave., S. Nashville, TN 37212. Work includes architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and industrial hygiene. Work involves renovation of approximately 11,200 NSF located on the 2nd floor. Work includes, but is not limited to, demolition of existing wall, ceiling and grid, flooring, finishes, casework, nurse station, support areas, lighting, HVAC grilles and diffusers, and plumbing fixtures. New construction configures the east side area into semi-private patient rooms with handicap accessible toilet and shower facilities and support spaces which includes, but is not limited to, new walls, new finishes, wall covering, doors and hardware, ceiling/grid, lighting, floor covering, base, paint, etc. Existing corner guards, bumper guards and handrails to be reused, reworked and be recovered to fit the new configuration. Also includes HVAC balancing and/or adjustment, new lighting, HVAC grilles, nurse call system, data and communication connections, etc. The existing west patient rooms of approximately 7200 sq. ft is upgraded to provide homelike environment with casework, new finishes, wall covering, doors and hardware, ceiling/grid, resilient floor covering, base, paint, and new lighting. The project will be phased construction to minimize disruptions to medical center operations. Construction cost range is between 1,000,000 and $2,000,000. The North American Industrial Classification Standard is 236220 with a small business size standard of $33.5 million. A 20% bid bond shall be submitted with the bid. Performance and payment bonds are required within 10 days after contract award. This procurement is 100% set aside to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business contractors pursuant to 38 U.S.C. 8127(d). To be eligible for award the SDVOSB must be considered small under the relevant NAICS code and must be registered and verified in the following websites: www.vip.vetbiz.gov; www.ccr.gov; www.orca.bpn.gov; and www.vets100.vets.dol.gov/. Pre-bid site inspections will be announced in the solicitation. The solicitation will be posted o/a April 12, 2010 on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website www.fbo.gov. Interested bidders can download the solicitation, specifications and drawings from the FedBizOpps website. Amendments will not be mailed but will also be posted at the FedBizOpps website. Bidders are reminded they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to the solicitation prior to the time set for receipt of proposals. Proposals are due no later than 2:00 PM CDT on May 11, 2010 at the VISN 9 Acquisition Service Center, Department of Veterans Affairs, 1639 Medical Center Parkway, Suite 400, Room 433, Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37129. Award is subject to the availability of funds. Offerors submitting as a joint venture must submit the joint venture agreement with their offer. Joint ventures are limited to submission of three bids in a two year period.
