- NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a purchase order to Bruker Biospin Corporation EPR Division, 44 Manning Road, Billerica, MA 01821-3991. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Health Effects Lab Division (HELD), Pathology and Physiology Research Branch (PPRB) has a requirement for a Bruker E-540-L L-band EPR Spectrometer. Salient product capabilities needed for analysis of free radicals and oxidation status of mouse and rat exposure models used in assessment of effects of occupation exposures. 1 - Ability to measure free radicals in mice (head), 23mm diameter and mouse (whole body) rats (head) 36mm diameter in vivo. 2 - Acquire and analyze radical signal in both 2D and 3D for spin probe distribution and metabolism. 3 - L-band imaging in 40 G/cm gradients with 2D and 3D spectra special imaging. 4 - Temperature control for animal bed. 5 - Whole mouse or rat head 36 mm access, Q = 1000-50, 3G/100kHz, 5G/10kHz 6 - Autotune and electronic auto tune match for stabilization. 7 - Software had ability to analyze stepped, static gradients, 3D imaging, 4D spectra-spacial imaging, filtered backprojection and pO2 analysis. 8 - Calibration and line width fit for pO2 analysis. Includes a credit for a trade-in of a Bruker ESP 300E PS 03. This project is supported by justification for other than full and open competition to Bruker under authority of 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1). Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are hereby afforded the opportunity to submit to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice, their written capabilities statement and pricing information in the format they choose, not to exceed 10 pages. This is not a Request for Proposals; however, the Government will review any/all product, capabilities, and pricing information submitted and determine if other qualified sources do exist that could provide this requirement. Information received in response will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, negotiations will be conducted with Bruker Biospin Corporation EPR Division, 44 Manning Road, Billerica, MA 01821-3991 as the only source.
