Description
Site Lighting Control Location: Flint-Genesee Job Corps Center 2400 N. Saginaw Flint, MI 48505 Project: Installation of lighting contactors to provide centralized lighting control and eliminates the dusk to dawn controls presently in use at the center. Scope of Work: Installation of lighting contactors to control the 277V and 480V site pole mounted lighting, building wall mounted fixtures, and sign lighting located between Building A and Saginaw Street. The project would include rewiring of fixtures to eliminate the individual photo-eye dusk to dawn controls. Project would include replacing failed wiring from the base of the pole to the light fixtures. Control circuits for lighting contactors to be controlled by the existing Building Automation System (BAS), and with manual bypass control. Circuits powering site lighting poles should have lightning surge protection installed. The circuits supplying power to the site pole lighting are in Buildings A, B, C and E. Wiring for the wall mounted fixtures is controlled by each individual building. Wiring and over-current protection should follow NFPA 70. Project should include repair of ground lighting near center circle area. Site wiring extending from pole to pole behind Building B should be tested. A Site visit will be scheduled for Wednesday, April 7 at 1:00 pm. Call to confirm attendance. General Conditions: No work may be started without a written Purchase Order issued by the Purchasing Department. All work to be coordinated through the Facilities Department Contractors working at the Flint-Genesee Job Corps Center must sign in and out each day. Vehicles entering and exiting the Job Corps Center are subject to search. Work may be scheduled between the hours of 8:00am – 3:30pm, Monday-Friday. Lighting contactors must be listed for lighting control. Lighting contactors should be manufactured by Square D, ITE-Gould Class 8903 or an approved equivalent. Enclosures should be NEMA 1. It is the responsibility of the contractor to insure tools and material are secured at the end of each day. All wiring methods and materials must be code compliant. Bid proposal to include breakout of material, labor and mark-up. Patching and sealing of penetrations or abandoned openings is the responsibility of the contractor. Contractor is required to leave used parts or defective material with the facilities department. The Flint-Genesee Job Corps Center may cancel project based on funding withdrawal. Note: The Flint-Genesee Job Corps Center is a smoke-free facility.
