- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for DOCKSIDE Repairs to the USCGC BRISTOL BAY. The acquisition will be solicited as a Hub-zone Set-Aside. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about APRIL 8, 2010. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The NAICS Code is 336611. The USCGC BRISTOL BAY (WTGB 102) homeport is the DETROIT, MI. GEOGRAPHICAL RESTRICTIONS- cutter's homeport, DETROIT, MI. Anticipated start date on or about 12 JULY 2010 through 23 AUGUST 2010. The scope of the acquisition is to: (1) Inspect and Hydro Test Air Receiver valves, (2) Inspect MDE Exhaust Stack Uptakes, (3) Grey Water Holding Tanks Clean & Inspect, (4) Renew Deck Covering System in Designated Spaces, (5) Renew Joiner Doors in ECC and AFF PSWY, (6) Install Bridge Weather Tight doors, (7) Upgrade and Modify Potable Water Piping System, (8) Inspect and Test ECC Electrical Breakers, (9) Bilge Preservation Non-Machinery Space on Barge, (10) Overhaul Barge Bow Thruster, (11) Overhaul Barge Cargo hatch, (12) Modify Spinner II Lube Oil and Air Supply Piping System, (13) P-100 Locker Ventilation Install, and (14) Inspect and test Halon System. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures.
