Description
RELOCATE STERILE PROCESSING AND DISTRIBUTION PROJECT # 589-321QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS RECEIVED QUESTION 1: Please confirm the role of the Lean Consultant as it appears that this is a design-bid-build project and lean consulting is typically used on design-build projects or projects with early contractor involvement ANSWER 1: The A/E is to incorporate the Lean consultant in the design of the new space for the SPD department and proceed through complete construction documents and specifications. Once those are completed a contract for construction will be solicited. The A/E will remain on contract for construction period services such as submittal reviews and periodic site inspections including final inspection of the construction contract. QUESTION 2: Is the Systems Redesign Consultant and Architect the same discipline? ANSWER 2: The Systems Redesign Consultant is the equivalent of a Lean Consultant. QUESTION 3: What scope of work do you foresee for the geotechnical engineering since the project will be designed within the new OR addition? ANSWER 3: Though the building that the SPD department is going is in construction now, there won't be a concrete slab in place (unfinished basement area) and therefore will need to be designed for the equipment load going in that space. Surveying would not be needed, but geotechnical, civil, and environmental services may be required based on the results of the systems redesign. It is the responsibility of the A/E firm to ultimately determine what services will be needed. QUESTION 4: What scope of work do you foresee for the radiation physicist? ANSWER 4: That was an error. A radiation physicist will not be needed on this design. QUESTION 5: Is the Systems Redesign Consultant also a medical or equipment planner? ANSWER 5: The intention of the Systems Redesign Consultant is to work with the staff involved in the SPD relocation to develop the most efficient and cost effective space design. It would involve both medical and equipment planning disciplines.
