- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Laboratory Sciences, intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order, using simplified acquisition procedures, to Advanced Measurement Technology(AMETEK), Inc., 801 S. Illinois Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. AMETEK is the only know source that can provide a quantity one (1) each Vertical Lead Shield w/ 4' of lead surrounding an interior cylinder of 11' interior diameter by 16' interior height w/Sn/Cu liner with table; Spectrometer, Digital Gamma w/MAESTRO-32 Software for use with SMART-1 equipped detector; Network Copy, Gamma Vision-32 Software; Computer, Medium Business Personal Dell; Printer, Laserjet HP1300;. This Laboratory Equipment is only commericially available from AMETEK. The proposed purchase order action is for commercial items which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR subpart 6.302-1. CDC anticipates soliciting and awarding with only one source under the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) permitting other than full and open competition in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. AMETEK is the only known source available to provide a product that meets mission critical requirements. No Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities/qualifications to provide the equipment, in writing to Richard Jenkins, via email ONLY at RJenkins@cdc.gov. with the reference number (2010-81203) referenced in the subject line, NO later than April 15, 2010, 12:00 PM, Eastern Time.
