Description
Please note that this is NOT a request for quotes or proposals, the Government is seeking information for market research purposes only. The Government may or may not issue solicitation documents. The Department of Veterans Affairs Contracting Office in El Paso, TX is conducting a market survey for qualified firms capable of providing the required Tumor Registry Services as outlined below. *** Purpose: The Cancer Registry would perform the services of the Tumor Registry for the Amarillo VA Health Care System. Per the VHA Directive 2003-034, the Registry provides "important epidemiological, staging, demographic, survival and other clinical data." Services Provided: Case finding: Process of reviewing disease indices, pathology reports, radiology reports, and treatment logs to identify reportable cancer cases. Abstracting: Each identified cancer patient's medical record is reviewed and abstracted by the Cancer Registry to comply with the standards of the VA National Tumor Registry, American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and the Texas Cancer Registry. Patient Follow-up: In order to perform outcome studies as required by the VA National Tumor Registry and the American College of Surgeons, the Cancer Registry will perform annual patient follow-up on patients diagnosed and treated. Outcome Studies: The Cancer Registry provides outcome studies to the medical staff, cancer committee, and tumor board. The data is compared to national data for comparison to determine effectiveness of treatment, programs and survival. The Registry also provides patient care evaluation studies for the annual cancer program report. Reporting to Cancer Committee: The Registry reports on the status of TNM staging, timeliness of abstracting, follow-up, and quality improvement of the cancer registry services. ACoS Accreditation Responsibility: The Cancer Registry in conjunction with the Quality Management Department will assure the Amarillo VA Health Care System meets the standards of the American College of Surgeons. The Registry and the Quality Management Department has responsibility for the survey by the ACoS. The survey fee will be paid by the Cancer Registry. Staff: The Cancer Registry must have Certified Tumor Registrar's (CTR) and one follow-up staff to perform the services of the Amarillo VA Health Care System. Caseload: The Amarillo VA Health Care System averages 300-400 cases per year. *** The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (service disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, HubZone, 8(a), small disadvantaged business, small business, or large business). Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Responses to this notice should include company name, a service capability statement, examples of similar facilities which you have provided services to, DUNS number, address, point of contact and the size of your business pursuant to the following questions; (1) Is your business large or small? (2) If small, does your firm qualify as a small, emerging business? (3) If disadvantaged, specify under which disadvantaged group and if your firm is certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act? (4) Is your firm a certified HubZone firm? (5) Is your firm a woman-owned or operated business? (6) Is your firm a certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned or Veteran Owned Small Business? Responses to this notice must be submitted in writing (email or fax) and received no later than April 9, 2010. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced on Federal Business opportunities website http://www.fbo.gov at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement.
