Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY This request is for planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Quote, Invitation for Bid, Request for Proposal, Solicitation, or any indication the Government will contract for the items contained in the RFI. The Government does not reimburse respondents for any cost associated with submission of the information being requested or reimburse expenses incurred to interested parties for responses to this RFI. The purpose of this RFI is to receive feedback from industry in regard to the following and is in support of market research. Information is being gathered to determine if more than one supplier has the capability to fully meet the Government's stated requirements. If you desire to provide feedback to this notice, you should reply with information that supports your capability to meet these requirements. Specify which areas you possess sufficient experience and capability in meeting the government's requirements. If you lack sufficient experience in a particular area, you may also provide details explaining how you would overcome the lack of experience/capabilities in order to perform that portion of the requirement (i.e., teaming, subcontracting, etc.) The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) is seeking interested sources capable of providing shipping, warehousing, travel, and logistical support to the Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) Program. DTRA is considering issuing one or more contracts to fulfill integrated logistics requirements across all segments of the CTR programs in all areas of operation. The period of performance will be up to 10 years, with up to $15 million in value per year. Current CTR project areas include the former Soviet Union and South Asia, with possible expansion to other areas. Companies interested in providing the Shipping and Warehousing support must be able to: Manage all aspects of the shipping process, with shipments originating globally, from receipt through to final delivery; Complete technical aid customs clearance of shipments in recipient countries, to ensure value added tax and other fees applied to commercial shipments are not costs incurred by DTRA; Provide an automated means of receiving government approval for each shipment, validating the US export compliance of the shipment, and providing intransit visibility for each shipment, from receipt to final delivery. Maintain all records and documents involved in the shipping process, sortable by multiple categories, and accessible to the customer online. Companies interested in providing the travel and logistical support must be able to: Provide comprehensive logistical support to DTRA delegations traveling to CTR project areas, including reservations, travel booking, transfers, and conference/meeting support; Provide interpreters and translation services in all CTR project areas; Provide automated means of receiving government approval for each support transaction and tracking the status of support requests. The integrated logistics provider(s) will be required to interact frequently with multiple DTRA components, other DTRA contractors, and recipient country organizations involved in the customs clearance and receipt of DTRA provided equipment and materials. All responses must be received no later than close of business Tuesday, 14 April 2010. You may either mail or email your responses; however, email is the preferred method. Please send one copy of your response to: katherine.timberlake@dtra.mil If you mail your response, please send it to: Attn: Katherine Timberlake DTRA/BE-BCOC 8725 John J.
