- Description
- The Space and Naval Warfare Command Systems Center Pacific has a requirement todevelop statistical models and analysis of variables associated with the firefrequency, predictability, intensity, seasonality, and size characteristics offires (fire regime) and to conduct spatial analysis of ignition and firefrequency patterns at a Southwest military installation. The goal of thiseffort is to provide the installation with tools to improve wildfire managementfor the purpose of increasing training days and maximizing resourceproductivity while minimizing habitat conversion. Numeric modeling tools required include Maxent software for speciesdistribution modeling, Random Forests for analysis of scientific data, GeneralAlgebraic Modeling System (GAMS) for mathematic programming, generalized linearmodels (GLIMS) and the use of geographic information systems (GIS).
