- Description
- In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the 'Act'), Public Law 111-5, this notice is provided for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), intends to issue a modification to Task Order G09PD01814 under established Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity Contract Number 08CRCN0053 awarded to Synergetics Incorporated. The project described below is within scope of the existing contract, which was originally awarded on a competitive basis. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE INCUMBENT CONTRACTOR. The Task Order issued against aforementioned contract is as follows: Contract Number 08CRCB0053/Task Order Number G09PD01814, Fixed Price Level of Effort Dollar Value of This Action is $116,431.41 to conduct basic and applied research on NEIC-related earthquake response systems. Period of Performance is September 19, 2010 through August 30, 2011 and Place of Performance is flexible, both on-site (USGS facility in Golden, Colorado) and off-site (contractor facility). The nature of the work requires the contractor to conduct basic and applied research on NEIC-related earthquake response systems, modeling large (M7 or greater) potentially destructive earthquakes, using both moment tensor and finite fault approaches. Develop new methods to improve NEIC's ability to characterize their source properties (location, magnitude, mechanism and kinematics of rupture). Lead development of a Global Subduction Zone Interface Geometry model. All these efforts will also contribute to the USGS PAGER systems performance and capabilities. Funding for requirements to be completed by the contractor will utilize funds provided by the Act. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements, is required. (ATN ARRA-SE0001C.6 TAS 14 0803)
