Description
Description of Requirement: This synopsis is not a request for quotes or proposals. This is a pre-solicitation notice that a solicitation is scheduled to be released via FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) in the near future detailing requirements for a service requirement entitled: Fish Pump Shaft Rehabilitation. This includes cleaning of government owned pump shafts one (1) 31.8 and one (1) 16. Machine radial cuts on said shafts, take and record precision measurements, provide the report of measurements to the government as well as any observations regarding the condition of the shafts and future serviceability. Machine two stainless steel bushing (wear sleeves) 9 X 7 X 18 centrifugally cast SS. (Government to provide SS material) Machine one packing box sleeve from stock also, provided by government. Machine new shaft keys and install keys. Take and record precisions measurements on the shaft assembly (both shafts coupled together) New split bearings shall be provided. Bearing material shall be a self lubricating material suitable for speeds up to 200 feet per minute loads of 150 psi. This project requires access to a lathe that can turn through centers of a 31.8 foot shaft with a diameter of 8.5 inches and coupling diameters of 15 inches. The contractor shall provide shipping from and to Lower Monumental Dam. Personnel at the dam will provide loading and unloading services on and off the truck but the Contractor is responsible for packing and protection of all Government property while in the contractors possession. The Contractor shall have 30 days upon taking possession of shafts (pick up at Lower Monumental Dock) to complete the work. Other information: The solicitation will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities web site (www.fbo.gov) when released. Quotes/Proposals will be due approximately 2 weeks after the actual solicitation issuance date. This is scheduled to be issued as a Firm Fixed Price Service contract. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only. All Offerors must be CCR registered prior to receiving an award. Registration instructions may be obtained, and online registration may be accomplished, at www.ccr.gov. By submission of a quote, a vendor acknowledges the requirement to be registered in the CCR database prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract resulting from the solicitation. Prior to quoting, it is preferred that vendors complete the Online Representations and Certifications (ORCA), which requires CCR registration including an MPIN number. Instructions may be obtained and required information may be entered at http://orca.bpn.gov. If you are not ORCA registered, you will need to complete and provide paragraphs (B) through (I) of provision 52.213-3 in the solicitation. When available, the solicitation documents for this project will be accessible via FedBizOpps at www.fbo.gov. No CDs or hard copies will be available. Offerors are responsible for checking the referenced page for any update(s) to the Notice.
