- Description
- Synopsis Air Force Material Command (AFMC) will be hosting the first annual Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (AF ISR) Industry Education Day on Tuesday, 4 May 2010. The event will be a classified, SECRET level forum held at the Advanced Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC) auditorium, 2685 Hibiscus Way, Beavercreek, OH 45431. The intended audience for the event is primarily defense contractors and academia. Registration will begin at 0800 with activities convening at 0845. The purpose of this Industry Education Day is to introduce the AF ISR Flight Plan and its associated capabilities based assessment (CBA) activities to industry and academia. The AF ISR Flight Plan is a long-term, integrated plan designed to develop cross-domain ISR capabilities to actualize the AF Global Integrated ISR Service Core Function (SCF) and the Battlespace Awareness Joint Capabilities Area. This continuous process, led by the Deputy Chief of Staff for ISR (HAF/A2), involves critical analysis, recommendations, and direction as the AF builds future Program Objective Memorandums (POMs) to address materiel and non-materiel capabilities in the near- mid- and far-terms. It also provides a mechanism for synchronization and integration during AF-wide modernization and recapitalization across all the AF SCFs. In addition, it provides both a deliberate process to influence annual programming guidance, and an agile, response to provide capabilities for warfighter-identified, quick-turn needs. The living nature of ISR Flight Plan collaborative automation tools and established community partnerships facilitate such quick reaction capability. The forum will feature comments by Lt Gen Deptula, HAF/A2, as the key stakeholder and sponsor of the AF ISR Flight Plan. The event will also include briefings from representatives of HAF/A2, AF ISR Agency, and AFMC for the following areas: 1. Overview of the AF ISR Flight Plan process 2. Overview of the prioritized ISR capability Needs and Focus Areas 3. Overview of process to submit materiel and non-materiel concepts/solutions in response to the ISR Needs and Focus Areas Unclassified Government briefing charts and Questions & Answers will be posted to this FedBizOpp advertisement approximately two weeks after the Industry Education Day.
