- This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought synopsis only. This is NOT a request for proposals and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to gain knowledge of commercially available products that may be of interest to the United States Coast Guard (USCG). The USCG Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) is performing market research to determine available sources that can provide contractor-furnished resources for design, upgrade, modification and/or replacement, and sustainment of the ALC blast media reclamation system. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, and accessories necessary for a complete and operational "turn-key" design and installation of a Starch Media Blasting Recovery & Reclamation System (SMB/RRS) to include removal of current reclamation and filter bank system. The upgraded hangar based system shall perform the mechanical removal of paint and primer from aircraft airframes as large as a Coast Guard C-130 (minus wings and tail) by pneumatic blasting using GPX corn starch media. Capabilities that shall be required include but are not limited to the following: • Picking up spent media paint debris, and dust • Separating the used media from the dust, paint debris and toxic metal compounds • Recovering and recycling the used starch media • Installation of a separate parts blasting booth which incorporates the overall media recovery system (Minimum inside working dimensions shall be 14'L x 14'W x 10'H) • Support a minimum of four operators simultaneously • System shall have a supply air pressure vessel with flow-rate and pressure capacities to suit the application • Compliance with current RCRA part B and North Carolina Air Permit issued to Base Support Unit (BSU) Elizabeth City Responses to this notice should include company name, address, telephone number, point of contact, and complete product details, brochures, and etc. which will allow the USCG to understand your product, configurations, auxiliary equipment, and options.
