Description
NASA/JSC has a requirement for SUSTAINING ENGINEERING OF THE INTERNATIONAL SPACESTATION FORCE 19V GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM RECEIVER.NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from Trimble Navigation Limited. The arrangementis designed to provide long-term sustaining engineering of the Force 19V GlobalPositioning System (GPS) receiver including hardware and software anomaly resolution,hardware repairs, and maintenance of all design documentation by the original equipmentmanufacturer, Trimble Navigation Limited. The Force 19V GPS receiver is currently flyingon the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the Space Integrated GlobalPositioning System/Inertial Navigation System (SIGI).The ISS SIGI is a primarynavigation source for the International Space Station.It provides position, velocity,time, and attitude information to the ISS Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C)System. The Force 19V receiver is a Trimble Navigation Limited (Trimble) proprietary GPSattitude-capable receiver that is an integral component inside of the SIGI. Sustainingengineering support operation of this hardware and software is critical to the ISSmission. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon April 02, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
