- Description
- The purpose of this notice modification is to provide answers to the following questions. Attachments are included as backup information for certain questions. QUESTIONS 1. The SOW states: 'A full monopulse system option will also be considered if cost permits. The contractor shall include this as an option in their proposal for the ROR.' However the solicitation does not request this as a deliverable option. The technical challenges of adding mono-pulse will change the design approach extensively (i.e. weight, size, number of processing channels, software control and messaging, calibration and test equipment, etc.). ANSWER 1. A ROM on the monopulse option is acceptable if contractor provides a technical description of growth path from ROR to monopulse. QUESTIONS 2. Can we get a better timing on when the customer will exercise the purchase of the 2nd ROR (i.e. how long after contract award)? We suggest it be no sooner than the completion of acceptance testing due to the need to retire all technical risk. ANSWER 2. After the governments review and evaluation of the preliminary design, and decision to proceed with the development of the ROR the government will commit to the second unit. QUESTION 3. Is it possible to visit WSMR and view the KTM and shelter/trailer to discover more detail on mechanical and electrical interface requirements within the next week? ANSWER 3. An industry day is not possible due to the short suspense of the solicitation due date. As such, we are providing photos of the KTM mount as it exists. Photos attached as Additional Documents to this synopsis modification. QUESTIONS 4. TENA Interface Question: Can you expand upon the requirement regarding range data in TENA format? Are you asking that the range data be available in a TENA format over Ethernet using UDP protocol? ANSWER 4. Yes we do need the data to be in a TENA format over Ethernet UDP protocol within the instrumentation van. The protocol interface from the KTM to the van can be of manufacture's design. The external interface can be TENA gateway (i.e. PC based) that is inside the electronic van. QUESTION 5. TENA Interface Question: The TENA website mentions a Logical Range Object Model that allows specific test sites to deviate from the standard set of TENA objects. Is this something we will have to be concerned with to operate at your facility? ANSWER 5. Please see ROR Tena model ver2 attachment. QUESTION 6. The packaged dimensions for mounting on the KTM are called out as 18 inch length x 12 inch height x 7 inch width. Which surface of this package does the customer envision the Antenna being mounted to? ANSWER 6. See attached file for antenna placement.
