Description
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Service (DHHS), Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality through the Program Support Center, plan to award a sole source simplified, fixed price acquisition to Academic Pediatric Association (APA), 6728 Old McLean Village Drive, McLean, VA 22101. The Academic Pediatrics is the official journal of the Academic Pediatric Association and well versed in the area of child health service research (e.g., evidence and outcomes measures for children, evidence report on children’s healthcare topic and effectiveness research in the care of children’s health). It represents the sole journal specifically geared toward academic pediatricians and publishes primarily research and science articles that would not necessarily be of specific interest to other pediatric journals in the United States. The journal Academic Pediatrics will ready for publication in hard copy and open access a special issue of the journal in consultation with a leading group of children’s healthcare quality researchers and users. The tasks to be performed by the Contractor: 1. Organize and conduct peer review of submitted manuscripts; 2. Coordinate author revisions to manuscripts based upon reviewer feedback; 3. Edit, revise, typeset, and proofread final manuscripts 4. Submit supplement to authors and AHRQ for review; 5. Publication in print of an 80 page supplement; 6. Open online access. The deliverables: 1. Schedule of deadlines for work processes from solicitation of authors and peer review to final typeset manuscripts; 2. Proposed table of contents for manuscripts; 3. Submit edited, typeset, proofread supplement to authors and AHRQ for review. The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the government not to complete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation is available.
