- Description
- Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), the VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations with Marriott Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile to provide hotel and conference/meeting space accommodations and audio/visual services to support the Health Services Research and Development Service - Scientific Merit Review Board Conference. The conference is scheduled to be held in Chicago on August 31-September 2, 2010. The Marriott Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile is the only hotel who is capable of providing 120 standard sleeping rooms at the government per diem rate, 1 large meeting room able to accommodate 130 attendees for the opening session on August 31, 2010, 7 large meeting rooms to accommodate 25-35 participants using a specified set-up that are located all on the same floor, which is essential since participants must move to various meeting rooms during the conduct of the meeting and will provide complimentary wireless Internet for all meeting participants throughout each meeting day. This announcement is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by supplies available from one source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by March 30, 2010 by 2:00 PM CST. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. All interest received on or before March 30, 2010 will be evaluated by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored.
