Description
This notice announces that the United States Secretary of the Senate (SOS) intends to award a contract to William Lewin Conservator, 1637 E. Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD to perform on-site conservation services for the cleaning and repair to the gilded mirror and painting frames in the Senate Collection and the Senate's gilded window valences. Only one source is known to satisfy the requirements below. If there are any other businesses that can meet the requirements, they must respond to this notice before Noon EDT on April 7, 2010. REQUIREMENTS: The Contractor shall: a. be located within the Washington DC Local Commuting Area (no more than 50 miles driving distance to the United States Capitol Building); b. be a Fellow or Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC); c. perform all work in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Standards of the Practice of the American Institute for the Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works; d. have a minimum of ten (10) years demonstrated experience in conservation services for the cleaning and repair of historic gilded mirror and painting frames and the ability to perform cross-section analysis; e. perform all work on-site in the United States Capitol Building; f. not need to subcontract or assign any part of the work under this project; and, g. be able to provide all tools and materials required for the performance of the project. If no responses are received by the above date, a contract with William Lewin Conservator will be awarded. Responses shall be sent via email only, to the attention of Kathleen M. Haddow at Acquisitions2010@saa.senate THERE IS NO SOLICITATION. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES THE ENTIRE SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND IS THE ONLY INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE SOS OR SENATE. ANY QUESTIONS OR REQUESTS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WILL NOT BE HONORED.
