- Description
- The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) intends to issue a new solicitation entitled "Study of Health Outcomes in Children with Autism and Their Families". The goal of this initiative will be to employ data on one, or more, large representative populations in the United States to describe the health and health care trajectories of individuals with autism and their families. The initial phase of the study will analyze existing data to describe health outcomes and utilization of health care services in this population, both before and after ASD is identified for a given individual or within a given family. It will also gather data that will determine the feasibility of using existing database(s) for further exploration of autism risk factors in a potential subsequent competitive study. This solicitation was previously advertised under sources sought announcements #NIH-MH-2010-014 and #HHS-NIH-NIMH-SBSS-10-014.
