Description
The Naval Air Systems Command Aircraft Division (NAVAIR-AD), Patuxent River, Maryland has a requirement for: Fiber Optic Vertical Gyro (Marine Applications) w/ Captive Mounting Fasteners. Crossbow is the only known manufacturer with this proprietary information. NAVAIR-AD intends to negotiate solely with Crossbow for the above items with an anticipated award date of April 07, 2010 and an estimated delivery date of June 30, 2010 to NAVAIR Patuxent River, MD. All responsible sources may submit a capabilities statement, which shall be considered by the agency. The Government solely for the purpose of determining whether to initiate a competitive procurement will consider all capabilities statements received. Technical capability will be determined solely on the content and merit of the information submitted in response to this provision. Therefore, it is incumbent on the interested party to provide sufficient technical literature, documentation, etc. in order for the Government to make an adequate technical assessment. The Government reserves the right to process the procurement on a sole source basis for the brand specific item based upon the responses received. The Government will not pay for any information received. Inspection and Acceptance shall be at destination. Offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to submission of an offer to be considered for award of any DOD contract. This may be accomplished electronically at http://www.ccr.gov/vendor.cfm. Specific characteristics and unique features, functions of the item: The Integrated Communications and Information Systems (ICIS) Division of the NAWCAD, St. Inigoes, MD has been tasked by Light Airborne Multi-Purpose System (LAMPS) program to provice spare parts for the installation, check-out, and on-board repair for AN/SRQ-4 installation on the harry S. Truman Strike Battle Group. The parts must be interchangeable with the parts currently in the system to maintain systems continuity and performance. The Fiber optic Gyro (FOG) is required to maintain the operability of AN/SRQ-4 directional antennas functionality by measuring the pitch and yaw rates as well as the antenna positioning.
