Description
NASA/JSC has a requirement for Innov-X Delta Premium Vacuum XRF Analyzer Systems (1each).NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from Innov-X Systems, Inc.The 4W x-ray tube analyzer system will meet the need of quickly identifying geologicmaterial in the GeoLab isolation glovebox. The unique vacuum design with no need for gastank purge, allows for fast mobile acquisition of elemental rock and soil geochemicalcomposition. The analyzer system results can be quickly disseminated to a remote scienceteam for high grading Lunar samples for return to Earth. The analyzer system size andmounting system is compatible with the current customized GeoLab glovebox ports. Theradiation safety features also provide several safety interlocks which will help keeppersonnel safe from unexpected radiation hazards. The Innov-X Delta Premium Vacuum XRFAnalyzer Systems is the only spectrometer that can meet NASA's requirements.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:30 p.m. local timeon March 30, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
