- GCMC-DBO-IM-V Digital Printer Requirements Lease of a full color digital press The George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, is seeking sources to provide for the lease/sale, installation, maintenance and service of a full color digital press printer capable of meeting the specifications included in this announcement. Please be advised that no solicitation is anticipated at this time. This notice is for information and planning purposes only. This is not a Request for Quotes and does not commit the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract, now or in the future. If the Government decides to issue a solicitation, a Request for Quotes will be available via the FedBizOpps web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. It will be the quoters responsibility to monitor the FedBizOpps web page for the release of any solicitation and amendments, and to download the RFQ and all attachments. To be eligible for any future contract, prospective concerns must first obtain a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) cage code (NCAGE) at: https://www.bpn.gov/ccr/international.aspx The Marshall Center (MC) Visual Information Branch (VIB) provides publication design and production support to the College of International and Security Studies (CISS), the Outreach Programs Directorate, and other internal and external organizations for both short and extended conferences and academic programs. VIB prints in-house publications and documents such as booklets, brochures, and fact sheets. The MC VIB requires a high quality full-color digital printer capable of producing finished booklets on demand. The contractor shall install and maintain all equipment and software and train MC VIB personnel on the proper use of the printer. The MC VIB printing requirements call for a medium to high volume digital printer (35,000 sheets per month), capable of being networked with its Macintosh graphic design computers. High print quality, the ability to handle media up to A3 size at weights between 60 to 300 grams, and an inline finisher capable of trimming, folding, and stapling booklets up to 20 sheets thick, are required. The MC VIB anticipates leasing the printer for five years, renewable annually. If possible, input regarding lease vrs. purchase scenarios is requested. Routine servicing shall be conducted during MC core business hours, Monday through Friday from 0800 to 1700. The contractor shall respond to service requests within 8 hours, and dispatch service personnel to the government's site within 24 hours. The contractor may diagnose and eliminate errors or malfunctions, by telephone, e-mail or remote access, or via the Internet. The contractor shall provide a Technical Support hotline (phone number) upon award of a contract. The hotline shall be available during normal business hours (0800 - 1700). Online technology support shall be provided in some form outside of normal business hours and on weekends. Helpdesk telephone and email support shall allow for an unlimited number of email or telephone incidents. As part of the maintenance agreement, the contractor shall provide all consumables except paper, i.e., color toner, black toner, staples and waste bags, fuser oil, color drums, black drum, and developer. The contractor shall service toner, developer and fixer that are needed to operate the products. Training The contractor shall train the MC VIB staff on the proper use of the equipment and software at the time of installation.
