Description
Amendment 3: This is an announcement directing interested parties to the Department of Interior's Business Opportunities Web Page at http://ideasec.nbc.gov where details of a US Geological Survey Request For Quotation (RFQ) 10HQQQ0057 Amendment 3 may be viewed. RFQ 10HQQQ0057 is hereby amended to add the questions, answers, and change to the scope of work from the site visit on 03/11/2010 and to extend the bid close date. All quotes are due via email to jenglehart@usgs.gov no later than 1:00 PM EST, Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Please see the questions and answers below. No further questions will be accepted from this point forward. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged. QUESTIONS/ANSWERS and NOTES/CHANGES from the SITE VISIT ON 03/11/2010 AT 9:30 AM EST.7th Floor Window Tinting and Blinds - Project Number: DC-129 (10) CHANGE TO THE ORIGINAL SCOPE OF WORK-7A300 currently has tinting - 7A300 will need to have the existing tinting removed and replaced and have new blinds installed. ADDITIONAL DRAWING INSTRUCTIONS-The drawing provided is a partial map of the 7th floor that includes the height and number of windows. The map is to scale. The height of the window in the Open Area is approximately 9' tall and the height of the exterior windows is approximately 7' " tall. In order to get the calculation for the half of the 7th floor that is not observable, multiply the calculations from the half shown by 2. The half of the 7th floor not shown mimics the half visible. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERSQuestion 1: What brand of blinds is required?Answer 1: As stated in the Scope of Work the Contractor shall install white single rail, single track, vertical blinds with a 6 foot wand according to manufacturer recommendations. Blinds are to be inch off the bottom of the window frame. The Contractor shall fill in all screw holes with bronze putty and file until smooth. The Contractor is to match existing blinds. The USGS has used Mill End Shops for our recent installations. Please quote Mill End Shops as the brand. Question 2: Will the Contractor be required to paint?Answer 2: The Contractor will not need to paint. However, if the walls or ceiling is damaged during the project, the Contractor shall repair to match existing. In the instance, the Contractor shall use Russian White paint (which is provided by the USGS). Question 3: Where can supplies and materials be stored?Answer 3: The Contractor shall leave a small storage unit on the premises behind the Power Plant. However, they must first acquire a properly issued permit that is available only through facilities 6A109. Question 4: Is the glass approved for the specified film?Answer 4: Yes, the glass windows and doors are approved for the 3M specified tinting. Question 5: Can a substitute film be used?Answer 5: No, the Contractor must use the specified film. This film does not need to provide bomb protection. Question 6: Will the film be attached or unattached?Answer 6: The film will be unattached. NOTES: Please note the change made to the Statement of Work (SOW) as mentioned above: 7A300 will need to have the existing film removed and replaced. Blind will also need to be installed in 7A300. Close date: All bids are due via email to jenglehart@usgs.gov no later than 1:00 PM EST, Wednesday, March 24, 2010. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
