- NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a purchase order to Cytoviva, 300 North Dean Road, Ste. 5 - PMB 157, Auburn, AL 36830. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Health Effects Lab Division (HELD) has a requirement for a Cytoviva 150 Optical Microscope and Hyperspectral Imaging System. CytoViva provides a patented nanoscale optical microscope integrated with proprietary hyperspectral imaging that permits: - Confirmation of nano-materials as they interact with biologicals and other composite materials. - Collection of reference spectra from specific nano-materials then quantitate the presence, location and amount of these nano-materials in the samples (cells, tissue, fibers, etc). - Differentiation of nanoparticles that are very similar based on minute differences in their surface chemistry. (i.e. carbon nanotubes from Carbon Black etc). - The analysis and observation available with live cells and tissue as well as fixed samples. - No special sample preparation, it is a much more efficient method for making these observations over other systems including electron microscopy. - 3D reconstruction/deconvolution capability potential enabling quantitatively determine where the nano-material is localized in the Z axis profile of the biological sample. This project is supported by justification for other than full and open competition to Cytoviva under authority of 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1). Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified above are hereby afforded the opportunity to submit to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice, their written capabilities statement and pricing information in the format they choose, not to exceed 10 pages.
