- RECOVERY: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will host a Market Research Information Session for the Construction of a NetZero Residential Building for the NIST, Gaithersburg, MD Campus, on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 10:00am to 12:00pm. NIST is seeking a Question and Answer forum with Small Business sources, regarding this potential requirement. This potential requirement will be subject to the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act. This notice is pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 10.0002 (Market Research). BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE POTENTIAL REQUIREMENT: The Net Zero Energy Residential Test Facility (NZERTF) will be used to demonstrate the viability of the Net Zero Energy concept for a residential structure that is similar in size and aesthetics to surrounding homes in the Gaithersburg, Md. area. The NZERTF will generate as much energy on an annual basis as it consumes when operated in a manner that mimics a residence occupied by a family of four. NOTE: This is NOT a "bidders conference" and this announcement is not a contract, request for proposal, a promise to contract or a commitment of any kind. The Government will not assume liability for costs incurred by a vendor for presentations, travel, marking efforts or data offered for examination, therefore, the cost of preparing information in response to this notice is not considered an allowable direct charge to the Government. The National Institute of Standards and Technology will provide information on the construction of the building mention above, during the conference. Specifically, NIST is interested in learning more about potential Small Business capabilities to perform construction of this type of requirement. In your email request, please specify the name of your company, the persons who will attend, and identify their country of citizenship. No more than two persons from the same company. All responses for attendance MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 3:00 PM ON FRIDAY, MARCH 22, 2010. IF YOU ARE NOT A UNITED STATES CITIZEN, YOUR RESPONSE FOR ATTENDANCE MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 3:00PM ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19, 2010. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. The Conference will be held in the Red Auditorium of Building 101 on the NIST, Gaithersburg, MD campus (address below). Please be advised, for security reasons, attendees who have not pre-registered will not be admitted to the Industry Day. No entry to the NIST campus will be permitted after 10:15am. Please allow AT LEAST THIRTY MINUTES OR MORE TO CHECK IN AT THE VISITOR CENTER (IDENTIFICATION IS REQUIRED). Acceptable ID's: State Driver's License or Passport.
