- Description
- RECOVERY ACT - THE NASA GLENN RESEARCH CENTER (GRC) HAS BEEN AUTHORIZED UNDER THEAMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 TO ISSUE A TASK ORDER FOR ENGINEERINGSUPPORT SERVICES UNDER THE PREVIOUSLY AWARDED, COMPETITIVE 8(a) CONTRACT NNC06BA07B WITHASRC AEROSPACE CORPORATION. THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. BACKGROUND: NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) has committed support for specific effortsunder the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. The specific area ofsupport for this task, per NASAs Recovery Act Program Plan for Aeronautics Research,Aviation Safety Program, is to provide enhanced models and higher fidelity simulationsresulting in the ability to qualify performance prediction uncertainty in realisticenvironments, and enable flight research of adaptive control technologies to preventloss-of-control and maintain NASAs flight test capabilities.NASA GRC intends to issue a task order under existing contract NNC06BA07B to procureengineering services to develop turbofan engine simulations and controllers in theMATLAB/Simulink environment. This task is one of the coordinated NASA Recovery Act tasksto develop algorithms incorporating adaptive control technologies. The outcome of thistask is to turbofan engine simulation for use in diagnostics, prognostics, and adaptivecontrol applications. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. This announcement will not result in a Request for Proposal; this announcement is forinformational purposes only. All questions and/or concerns must be submitted in writingto points of contact contained herein. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note 'B'.
