- General Notice: The purpose of this notice is a Sources Sought Notice and is for information purpose only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS OR BIDS. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, requests capability statements from 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owner Businesses and HUBZone businesses concerning the potential project described below. Responses to this sources sought announcement will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. General Information: Responses are to be sent via email to carol.a.williams@usace.army.mil or hard copy to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 10 S. Howard Street, Room 7000, Baltimore MD 21201-1715 no later than 3:00 p.m. eastern standard time March 19, 2010. Project Description: Dredging of approximately 1.1 million cubic yards of sand from an offshore borrow source and placing it on the beach berm to specified lines and grades along approximately 8 miles of shoreline at Ocean City MD and dune crossover repairs. The work shall be completed within 120 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. This is a construction only project. Interested 8(a), SDVOB and HUBZone certified firms with single bonding capacity to support this project (between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000) should submit a concise narrative and specific project examples of similar size and scope that demonstrate their experience with dredging, beach restoration & dune repair projects. Contractor must have equipment capable of: 1. Performing bathymetric surveys and beach profile surveys to water depths as great as 50 feet; 2. Operating at a borrow site located over 3 miles off shore of Ocean City in the Atlantic Ocean; 3.Dredging materials at depths as great as 50 feet or more; 4.Dredging vessel must have turtle exclusion device; 5.Dredging vessel must be able to provide safety support avoidance of Munitions and Explosives of Concern (UXO). Capability statements should include the following information: details of similar projects, dates of construction, project references (including owner with phone number and email address), and project cost. Additionally, provide bonding for single project and aggregate. Narratives shall be no longer than ten pages. Email responses are preferred. Comments will be shared with the Government and the project design team, but otherwise will be held in strict confidence. Comments may be in any format, but must include the offerors name, phone number, and email address.
