Description
Notice Type: Award Synopsis: This announcement is for a contract to provide pathology specimen testing services and on site Pathology services at: Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center 77 Wainwright Drive Walla Walla, Washington 99362 The contract will be a base and four option years. Contract type will be firm fixed price Non-personal services contract. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Codes are 621511 and 621111. Services required are one 0.15 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) (312 hours) Board Certified Pathologist MD to provide professional direction for the laboratory; consult with providers and Laboratory Staff on Laboratory test results. Review and approve any exceptions for College of American pathologist proficiency surveys. Review Quality Control and be responsible for the overall quality of all procedures performed. Review all abnormal blood films and provide narrative interpretation. Prepare autopsy reports and provide information to medical staff and quality management as requested. Provide documentation by station policy of all deaths as requested. Assist Laboratory personnel to ensure accreditation of the Laboratory by College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Joint Commission. Contractor must be licensed and credentialed by the VA. All licenses must be full and un-restricted and will be reviewed every two years by the credentialing board. Contractor will participate in VA Cytology Proficiency program and provide Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) and State or any other required accreditation body; and will provide documentation and proficiency performance documents at least yearly as directed by Laboratory Manager. Contractor will provide monthly Quality Review Report (sent to Quality Management and Chief of Staff) of all cases, the turn around time for reporting, and including at least 10 case reviews by second Pathologist and review of all carcinoma and other diagnostic critical cases by a second pathologist. Report is to include comparison of diagnosis and any discrepancies in diagnosis reviewed and sent for consultation to other Pathology facilities. When the primary pathologist will be absent for prolonged periods a backup VA credentialed pathologist needs to be provided who has the required background investigations completed. Contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to award of this contract. Award is subject to availability funds.
