GOVERNMENT SOURCES SOUGHT REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)Low Frequency Magnetic field Transceiver System THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS Description: The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) located at Panama City, FL is looking for companies with the capabilities and facilities to provide COTS low frequency magnetic field transceiver systems. The NSWC PCD along with PM Close Combat Systems (PM CCS), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ intends to apply for approval of a Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) project (www.acq.osd.mil/sts/fct) to evaluate candidate low frequency magnetic field transceiver systems. NSWC PCD is interested in contracting with vendors who are currently involved with the most advanced low frequency magnetic field system capabilities such as high speed two way data rates of 100kbps (compressed video transmission) through ground, water, soil and concrete for ranges to 10m as well as 20 bps data rate up to 200 meters range and 100 bps data rate up to 125m range. The government may decide to acquire for testing purposes one or more vendor products that appear to meet or exceed the stated criteria. Responses are requested of those suppliers who can provide low rate magnetic field transceiver systems ready for test and demonstration purposes. Responses to this market survey are due on or before 15 April 2010, and must include a product description with performance parameters and a statement regarding current availability, summary of prior testing, test reports, summary of logistic and maintenance requirements and an estimated cost for the price of test articles and production units. This synopsis does not constitute an Invitation for bid or Request for Proposals, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government to issue an order or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
