- The U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command (ACC), Joint Munitions & Lethality(JM&L) Contracting Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, is conducting market research to locate firms capable of providing display technologies. The Network Lethality and Intelligent Systems Division is seeking sources capable of providing information on the following display technologies: Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED), and Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD). The Government is also seeking any knowledge of other display technologies. The display will be incorporated into military systems that will be exposed to extreme requirements. The display shall meet all of the following requirements: Storage Temperature: -40C (-40F) to +71C (160F), Operating Temperature: -25C (-13F) to +60C (140F); Size: 0.75 (L) x 2.00 (W) x.25 (D); Character Size: The size of the characters displayed shall be equivalent to 18 font or larger; Driver: The display shall be a character based driver; Visibility; The display shall be readable in direct sunlight or at night from a distance of two (2) feet; Refresh Rate: The display has to update commands instantaneously during all operating temperatures; Initialization/Start-Up: The display shall initialize and display valid data instantaneously during all operating temperatures; Shock: The display shall be able to withstand a shock impulse of 2000g amplitude half sine wave with time duration of 0.7-1.5 milliseconds, and the display shall operate and meet requirements after being dropped from a 3 (three) foot distance without shock isolation; Power: The display shall draw less than 100mA continuously. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their interests and capabilities by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, information pertaining to experience on previous projects, specific work previously performed or being performed, any in-house research and development effort, and any other specific and pertinent information as pertains to this particular area of procurement that would enhance the Governments consideration and evaluation of the information submitted. Please advise your ability to meet the above mentioned time restriction deadline in your response to this notice. All information is to be submitted via email (10MB limit) at no cost or obligation to the Government; information provided will not be returned. Responses shall also indicate the size of the business entity; large or small, and all interested sources should be registered in the CCR database and be able to provide a copy of the most recent ORCA certifications. Interested firms/companies are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualification data NO LATER THAN March 15, 2010.
