- RECOVERY INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT (ISRDS) CONTRACTNUMBER NNA08CG83C. THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLEONLY TO STINGER GHAFFARIAN TECHNOLOGIES INCORPORATED (SGT, INC.) UNDER CONTRACT NUMBERNNA08CG83C FOR INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT (ISRDS) AT NASA AMESRESEARCH CENTER (ARC) LOCATED AT MOFFETT FIELD, CA. THIS IS AUTHORIZED UNDER THEAMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 (ARRA). ARC intends to issue Task Order68, titled Simulation and Optimization Methods for Assessing the Impact of AviationOperations on the Environment. This task supports NASA Recovery Act work sponsored by theAeronautics Research Mission Directorate and the Airspace Systems Program. Researchfunded by this task will focus on addressing the capacity challenges facing the USnational airspace. It is forecast that over the next 15 years, air traffic in the UnitedStates will double, far exceeding the countrys current capability to safely flyaircraft. To handle this growth, NASA is contributing toward the development of the NextGeneration Air Transportation Management System (NextGen). NASAs NextGen Airspaceproject investigates new concepts, algorithms, and procedures to dramatically increaseefficiency and throughput of the airspace, including the impact of these operations onthe environment. The contractor shall integrate a NASA supplied software model thatcalculates aircraft emissions into the Future ATM Concepts Evaluation Tool (FACET). Additionally, the contractor shall validate and report on the results of a NASA suppliedsoftware model that predicts the location of contrails against actual observed contraillocations, which are available from publicly available satellite imagery. Task Order 68 will be funded by the Recovery Act. A contract modification will beissued to fully fund this task order. The Intelligent Systems Research and Development Support (ISRDS) contract numberNNA08CG83C was made on a competitive basis.
