Description
THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE.The Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center (hereafter "The VA" or VA"), located at 1201 NW 16 St Miami, FL 33125, intends to release a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) numbered VA248-10-RP-0287, for a project entitled Repair/Replace all major Fire Doors to Meet OSHA& NFPA COMPLIANCE. The current intent is to award a contract in accordance with Public Law competitively via a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside. This is intended to be a limited source competitive RFP, meaning that contractors experienced with renovating hospitals in accordance with JACHO requirements and all other applicable federal, state and local codes will be invited to compete for this project. The VA intends to release this RFP with competition restricted completely to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. The applicable NAICS code will be 236220. The $33.5M. The magnitude of the project is between $100,000 and $250,000. The Period of Performance is expected to be ninety days (90) days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. A bid/guarantee bond is required with all offers Performance and payment bond will be required within 10 days of award. The VA anticipates the use of a "best value/tradeoffs" evaluation method that will include both an analysis of past performance, on similar type and magnitude projects, Qualification on construction personnel and price. A pre-proposal site visit will be scheduled at the place of performance. Attendance is required for all prospective offerors, in order to get a full understanding of the work required to successfully complete contract performance. The Request for Proposal is expected to be released on or about 26 March 2010 and the beginning of April 2010, unless this notice is modified. The RFP will be posted to the Government-wide Point of Entry (www.fbo.gov). This is a pre-solicitation notice synopsizing an upcoming competitive solicitation to satisfy the requirements of FAR 5.201 and 5.203.
