- The Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center, Product Manager Soldier Clothing and Individual Equipment (PM-SCIE), Natick, MA is conducting a market survey to locate potential manufacturers or suppliers of a Heads Up Display (HUD) capable of operation for both daytime and nighttime operations. The HUD shall be capable of accepting digital input to display a transparent SVGA color format overlay in the operator's field of vision. The display shall enhance situational awareness by providing valuable information in regards to navigation and thermal recognition as needed. The HUD shall also accept SVGA or NTSC video format input for display as needed. To allow for use during night operations the HUD shall interface with the PVS-21 Low Profile Night Vision Goggles. An additional optical viewer shall also be available for use during daytime operations. HUD brightness shall be adjustable and power shall be provided by standard commercial off the shelf (COTS) batteries. Controls for the HUD shall be helmet mounted with a minimal size envelope and total added weight limited to less than two pounds for both day and night operations. All interested firms and manufacturers, regardless of size, are encouraged to respond to this request for information. Information submissions should include available technology, product literature and illustrations, and relevant company background/experience. Information submissions must be received NLT 15 business days of this publication date.
