U.S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons Washington, DC 20534 MARKET RESEARCH QUESTIONNAIRE Suicide Prevention Training The Federal Bureau of Prisons is conducting Market Research from independent contractors to obtain a qualified expert in the area of suicide prevention training. Any requirements as a result of this market research is anticipated to be for one training in fiscal year 2010. Responsibilites will include, but not limited to, Development of specific training protocol between 16 and 32 hours. The protocol will cover intermediate and advanced skills and knowledge associated with suicide risk assessment, interventions, and documentation. The protocol will provide information that is consistent with best practices and is relevant to the specific needs of BOP psychologists and appropriate to their level of training and education. Facilitation of training for BOP psychologists on knowledge and skills associated with suicide prevention assessment, intervention, and documentation, consistent with best practices described in peer reviewed literature. Development of curriculum will be performed at the contractors place of business utilizing contractor own equipment necessary to complete requirement. PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSURE Doctorate in the field of clinical or counseling psychology. Extensive experience and knowledge of suicide prevention as evidenced by a current program of research and publications on this topic. Knowledge and skills required to create and deliver effective training programs as indicated above. In an effort to assist the Bureau of Prisons in conducting this market research, please provide your comments to the following questions in as much detail as possible.
