- Pre-Solicitation Synopsis forRecovery, Liquid Oxygen (LOX) Service Centrifugal Pumps For NASA Stennis Space Center The NASA, John C. Stennis Space Center is hereby soliciting information about potentialsources for Liquid Oxygen (LOX) Service Centrifugal Pumps. NASA/Stennis is contemplatingawarding a multiple award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with aminimal quantity of two (2) and a maximum quantity of twenty six (26).Contract lengthis expected to be 2 years beginning in 2010.The work to be performed under this contract consists of deliverables for a closedcoupled Liquid Oxygen (LOX) service centrifugal pumps and 250hp, 480VAC, 3 phase motor. The effort for this contract is the manufacture of centrifugal pumps. The centrifugalpumps and commercial off the self motor will be installed on a fleet of LOX storage andtransport barges used to support rocket engine testing. Individual tasks may include: 1)Design Services: project engineer, detail engineering, analysis (flow, thermo,flexibility, structural, etc.), drafting, drawing / document control, cost benefitanalysis and field installation support. Approximate performance of pumps will be 3600revolutions per minute at 1000 gallons per minute against 580 feet total head pressure.Pumps and motors will be installed in an outdoor and unprotected environment. The vendorshall demonstrate the ability to adhere to the SSC Cleaning Standard SSC-STD-8070-FLUIDS.This synopsis should not be construed as a formal request for proposals but, rather apre-solicitation synopsis requesting information under the authority of FAR 15.201. Responses to this request for information are not offers and cannot be accepted by NASAto form a binding contract. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by theGovernment, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited.The NAICS codefor this work is 333911 and the size standard is 500 employees. NASA desires that those companies expressing an interest in the aforementioned synopsisprovide a written Statement of Capability (SOC) that addresses high-level alternatives;general, market-based approaches; experience in this area; knowledge of the workinvolved; and professional and manufacturing resources. The SOC should also containdelivery lead times for components. The SOC shall not include any confidential businessor financial information relating to specific companies.
