- The Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL), Diagnostic Virology Laboratory (DVL). Ames, Iowa has a requirement for gamma irradiated Fetal Bovine Serum to be used in cell culture production. Parameters for Fetal Bovine serum quality and purity will be acceptable to DVL. Contractor shall have specific expertise in collection, handling and shipment of samples and final product. Contractors that intend to submit an offer for this proposal need to submit a non-irradiated sample as in accordance with the specifications. The sample shall be shipped separate for the actual proposal. The serum sample(s) provided for this requirement shall be accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis. This is a firm-fixed price, definite quantity commercial supply contract is anticipated for this procurement. The Government anticipates the need for approximately 500 Liters of Fetal Bovine Serum. FOB Destination. The solicitation, RFP AG-6395-S-10-0064, will be released at this website on or about March 22, 2010 and will be a 100% small business set-aside, therefore, all responsible small businesses may submit an offer. The NAICS code is 325414 with a size standard of 500 employees. After release, one may download a copy of this solicitation at this site. A single award is anticipated. The solicitation, # AG-6395-S-10-0064, is to be affixed to all documents submitted in reference to this requirement. Telephone requests will not be accepted. Proposals shall be submitted to the contracting activity by the date and time indicated in the Request for Proposal (RFP). Email or faxing of offers is acceptable. Paper copies of the RFP and/or amendments will not be issued. The solicitation and the specifications will be made available electronically at this website only. All questions concerning this RFP must be submitted in writing and faxed to (612)336-3550 or emailed to: patricia.y.harris@aphis.usda.gov. No telephonic responses to this RFP will be accepted. All changes to the pre-solicitation notice, solicitation and any attachments shall be posted to the website at: www.FedBizOpps.gov.
