A short description of the ICESat-II mission can be found at:http://nasascience.nasa.gov/missions/icesat-ii Information on the first ICESat mission (a.k.a. ICESat) can be found at:http://icesat.gsfc.nasa.gov/ The baseline ICESat-2 micropulse laser transmitter performance requirements are given inATLAS Laser Performance Specification (ICESat-2-ATSYS-SPEC-0099). The definition ofTechnology Readiness Level 6 (TRL-6) is found in Definition of Technology Readiness Level(TRL) 6 for Laser Transmitter (ICESat-2-TIP-TN-0173). Qualified flight laser systems areanticipated to be delivered to flight instrument integration and test in November 2012.The purpose of this RFI is to solicit specific capability information fromindustry/aerospace on micropulse space flight laser suppliers for capability assessment. The goal of this RFI is to insure that the best and widest possible set of capabilitiesis considered for the ICESat-2 mission.
