- Description
- RECOVERY SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS TO SUPPORT SURFACE HUMAN-IN-THE-LOOP SIMULATIONSFOR EVALUATION OF AIRPORTAL SURFACE SCHEDULING, DELIVERY ORDER NUMBER NNA10DA43T.
THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLEONLY TO FLIGHT RESEARCH ASSOCIATES UNDER DELIVERY ORDER NUMBER NNA10DA43T FOR SIMLABSIMULATION PARTICIPANTS AT NASA AMES RESEARCH CENTER (ARC) LOCATED AT MOFFETT FIELD, CA.THIS IS AUTHORIZED UNDER THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 (ARRA). ARCissued Task Order NNA10DA43T to fund Recovery Act research focusing on addressing thecapacity challenges facing the US national airspace. It is forecast that over the next 15years, air traffic in the United States will double, far exceeding the countrys currentcapability to safely fly aircraft. To handle this growth, NASA is contributing toward thedevelopment of the Next Generation Air Transportation Management System (NextGen). ThisRecovery Act research is being conducted to investigate new approaches to safely increasethe number of aircraft that can operate in the national airspace at any given time. Morespecifically, a real-time airport surface simulation capability and initial surfaceoperations experiments with newly-developed surface scheduling algorithms are planned, and require the participation of aviation subject matter experts to serve as air trafficcontroller and pilot subjects during simulations. This task will provide the pilot andcontroller subjects to conduct simulations that will help investigate newly-developedsurface scheduling algorithms.
This task order falls under the SimLab Simulation Participant contract NNA05BF53B whichwas made on a competitive basis.
This announcement is for informational purposes only. All questions and/or concerns mustbe submitted to the point of contact contained herein in writing via e-mail to thefollowing address: Jeannette.albiez@nasa.gov.
An Ombudsman has been appointed.
