Description
The Army Contracting Command (ACC) Joint Munitions & Lethality (JM&L)Contracting Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the Officeof the Project Manager Combat Ammunition Systems (PM CAS) contemplaces to issue a solicitation for the load/assemble/pack and delivery of 120mm M931 Full Range Practice (FRP) and M933A1/M934A1 High Explosive (HE) Mortar Cartridges. The basic contract is contemplated to be for an approximate quantity of 91,650M931 FRP and 26,400 M933A1/M934A1 HE Mortar Cartridges with a potential of ourfour option year requirements for M931/M933A1/M934A1 Mortar Cartridges included. The M931 FRP LAP effort will involve assembly of government furnished materialincluding shell bodies, fins, fuzes, fuze adapters, ignition cartridges,propelling charges; and packing of these assembled cartridges into fiber containers and wooden. The M934A1/M933A1 HE LAP effort will include the explosive loading of government furnished Composition B/HBU-88B explosive and or IMX-104 explosiveinto a government furnished steel shell body; assembly of government furnishedfins, fuzes/adapters, propelling charges, ignition cartridges into contractorfurnished fiber containers and metal cans. Required inspection techniquesinclude radiographic evaluation of HE castings within the shell body in accordance with a continuous sampling plan. Concurrent and single type cartridge production rate for the effort is ofapproximately 20,000 a month. Competition is limited to U.S. and Canadian sources. Solicitation will be available at http://procnet.pica.army on or about 11 MAR 10.
