Description
RECOVERY-THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A NOTICE FOR SOLICITATION OF OFFERS. THE ACTION DESCRIBED HEREIN IS A MODIFICATION TO AN EXISTING CONTRACT, DOLJ05QA00013. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE CONTRACTOR IDENTIFIED BELOW. This opportunity was available only to Res-Care, Inc. under contract number DOLJ05QA00013. The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management on behalf of the Office of Job Corps intends to award a modification in the amount of $88,149 to the Edison Job Corps Center, operated by Res-Care, Inc. These funds are provided under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The funding is within the not-to-exceed ceiling for Construction & Rehabilitation on this contract. It would have been impracticable to use a fixed price contract to secure services of the kind or quality required for this modification, since the modification was to an existing Cost Plus Incentive Fee contract (Cost Reimbursement Contract). The funding is intended to procure the following facility deficiencies: Gymnasium pipes are not adequately insulated, insulation not provided on hot water storage tanks in dormatory & dining hall, provide exhaust ventilation lacking in janitor closet, repair dormatory and Dining Hall CMU wall joints that are out of standard dimensions and blocks are mis-matched, repair insulation falling on external ductwork of HVAC unit in Security, Dining Hall exhaust ventilation in bathrooms is inadequate, replace daycare thru-the-wall units that are near the end of useful life, replace inadequate hot water supply in Mechanical building. The operator of the Edison center will procure the services of local construction and service providers, by making these funds available through subcontracting opportunities, following all applicable FAR procurement regulations. This Modification has been awarded on February 22, 2010.
