- PLEASE NOTE THIS ANNOUNCEMENT SUPERSEDES THE PREVIOUS PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE. The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Alaska Volcano Observatory has a requirement for twelve (12) (ea.) high precision, Self Leveling Borehole Tiltmeters with at least 50' cable with an option to purchase up to an additional fourteen (14) units no later than 01 September 2010. Delivery of the twelve (ea.) tiltmeters will be 4 to 6 weeks after award of the contract. The minimum required specifications for the tiltmeters will be identified in the forthcoming solicitation. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract using the procedures of FAR 13.5 (Test Program), and the procedures of FAR Part 12, entitled, "Acquisition of Commercial Items." The tiltmeters shall be delivered to Alaska Volcano Observatory, Anchorage, Alaska. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available on the internet on or about 26 February 2010. A formal solicitation is NOT available for release at this time. This requirement is unrestricted. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334513 and the size standard is 500 employees. There is no incumbent contractor. One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to Free Trade Agreements. Full funding for requirements to be completed by resultant contract award(s) may utilize funds provided by the Act. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements by the successful offeror(s), will be required in any resultant contract.
