- Description(s): THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. The resulting contract will utilize funds provided by the AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) of 2009; interested parties are notified that the inclusion of unique provisions required in implementing the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency, will be required of the successful bidder. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after March 12, 2010 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. All future information about this acquisition will be distributed solely through this website. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201; however, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. RECOVERY Libby District Slashing Project, Kootenai National Forest, Libby, Montana. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-82B1-S-10-0209 on or about March 12, 2010, for the Libby District Slashing Project. The project will consist of slashing/thinning of conifer species less than 6 inches DBH on 1380 acres on the Libby District to reduce ladder fuels, help ensure the survivability of overstory trees in the event of a wildfire, and enhance wildlife habitat. The project consists of six items (Item 540 is 265 acres, Item 541 is 195 acres, Item 542 is 450 acres, Item 543 is 185 acres, Item 544 is 30 acres, and Item 545 is 255 acres). PROJECT LOCATION: Item 540 is located about 13 air-miles northeast of the town of Libby, MT in Section 23 of Township 31N, Range 29W. Access is obtained off of road 6724. Item 541 located about 20 air-miles northeast of Libby, MT in Sections 2 and 3 of Township 31N, Range 28W. Access is obtained from Road 4898 (Warland Peak). Item 542 is west of Item 541 in Sections 32, 33, and 34 of Township 32N, Range 28W and Sections 3 and 4 of Township 31N, Range 28W. Items 543 and 544 are about 19 air-miles northeast of Libby, MT is located in Sections 6 and 7 of Township 32N, Range 28W and Sections 11 and 12 of Township 32N, Range 29W. Access is from Road 228 (FDR) which is a paved road, open yearlong. Item 545 is located about 14 air-miles northeast of Libby, MT. The unit is located in Sections 20 and 21 of Township 32N, Range 29W on Road 615. There is no pre-bid/pre-conference scheduled for this effort.
