- Description
- RECOVERY TAS::14 1041::TAS CHOH PMIS # 151930 - Stabilize Historic Culvery 182SUBJECT TO THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) OF 2009 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. This opportunity is only being offered to contractors awarded indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts under a competitive acquisition by the National Park Service. The IDIQ contracts are for construction services for repair and maintenance of historic stone masonry and concrete throughout Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The IDIQ contractors are The Christman Company (Contract No. C2000091300), Firvida Construction Company (Contract No. C2000093000), Forrester Construction Company (Contract No. C2000093300), Conservation Solutions, Inc. (Contract No. C2000093400), Preservation Trades Company (Contract No. C2000093500), and Worcester Eisenbrandt Construction (Contract No. C2000093700). This ARRA project will stabilize Culvert 182, a single span (40 foot span, 15 foot high rise) stone masonry culvert. The Culvert spans Little Tonoloway Creek and was constructed in 1840. The last major stabilization effort took place in 1974 when repairs were made after the flooding caused by Hurricane Agnes. The culvert is in a deteriorated condition. The voussoir stones are separating from the barrel and there are large voids in the barrel at the spring line. In addition, there are shear cracks through individual stones along the spring line. The prism has been re-watered in this section of the canal for interpretation and recreation. The leaking through the culvert barrel has increased over the last five years and concrete patches placed in the 1970's are beginning to fail. The Government anticipates soliciting this work approximately March 1, 2010. Selection of the successful contractor for this task order will be based on the evaluation factors in the IDIQ contract and specific evaluation factors in the request for proposals for this order. The NAICS Code is 238140.
