- Description
- This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation to procure commercial items prepared in accordance with the format of Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be used. The procurement is being issued as a Notice of Intent. The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2007-38. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this procurement is 424990 and the size standard is 100 employees. National Institute on Drug Abuse, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition, Office of Acquisitions- Neurosciences, on behalf of the National Institute on Neurological Disorders and Stroke intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a non-competitive basis to Quality Lab Products, Inc., Elkridge, MD for animal feed and bedding. The NINDS has a requirement for 34 weekly deliveries of Zeigler feeds and Beta Chip Bedding for it's Animal Health and Care Section. Quality Lab Products Inc. is uniquely qualified to supply these supplies because they are the sole proprietor of the Ziegler feeds and Beta Chip bedding in the Mid Atlantic Region. Any change in the feed or bedding type may contribute an unexpected variable and could cofound the existing experiments. The acquisition is being conducted using FAR part 13.106-1(b)(1) procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR part 6, competition requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
