Description
THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-0489-S-10-0259 on or about February 19, 2010, for the RECOVERY Pioneer Bridle Trail Maintenance project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after February 19, 2010 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. Provide equipment and qualified operator to perform heavy maintenance on the 8 mile Pioneer Bridle Trail under the day to day direction of Forest Service staff. Work performed with the equipment will include restoring tread, digging out drainages, and repair and replacing structures as needed. Most of the work on the lower stretch between Hwy 26 and Tollgate Interpretive Site near Rhododendron, consists of hauling tread material in, digging drainages, constructing rolling earth water bars, and installing barrier rocks at road crossings along the trail. Most of the work on the upper stretch consists of restoring tread, installing drainage, and replacing structures. The intent of this contract is to provide for the complete project described in the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract. PROJECT LOCATION. The Pioneer Bridle Trail starts at the Glacier View Trailhead west of Government Camp and Sno-park and ends at the Tollgate Interpretive Site near Rhododendron. The trail covers parts of the old Barlow Road and is adjacent to parts of the old Mt. Hood Highway. PARTICIPATION. This project is a Total SMALL Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. Prospective bidders who wish to provide comments on the set-aside matter should provide these comments to the contracting officer on or before February 19, 2010. Indeed, all prospective bidders are invited to notify the contracting officer of their interest in the acquisition. FOR MORE INFORMATION.
