Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, John D. Dingle, 4646 John R. St., Detroit, MI 48201, anticipates soliciting bids and consequently awarding a contract for the construction project known as "Clean Medical Center Exterior." An invitation for bid will be issued on or about 03-31-2010. The solicitation will be advertised as a Total Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, supplies, travel, etc. to perform all work under this project which consists of: This includes all the enameled metal work along the outside of the red and blue passageways leading from the red and blue first level parking garages. This also includes the exterior panels of the red and blue smoking shelters. Pressure washing and cleaning of all building intake louvers and surrounding brick work out to a three foot perimeter around each louver. Pressure wash and clean all porcelain enamel panels, fascias, marquees and salutes. Contractor shall use green biodegradable cleaning products. All porcelain enamel panel surfaces, glazed brick and smoking shelter surfaces shall be free of all stains, residue and streaks upon completion of work. Any and all damage caused to any part of the medical center, including landscaping (shrubs, trees, grass, etc.), by the work being performed under this contract, shall be repaired by the contractor before the job shall be considered complete. Cold/hot pressure washer shall be at 1000 psi maximum, except for hard to remove stains, which may require increased pressure which is not high enough to do surface damage. Hand washing and/or steam cleaning is permissible. The period of performance is 120 calendar days for the entire project. Magnitude of construction is expected to be between $250,000 and $500,000. NAICS Code for this acquisition is 561790 Exterior Building Cleaning. As authorized by FAR 5.102, solicitation dissemination is limited to electronic medium, and VA will provide no hard copies. The solicitation, consisting of various bid documents, specifications, forms, and drawings will be available for download at no charge at the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) System website (http://www.fbo.gov) on or about 3-1-2010 with a due date to be specified in the Solicitation. Further details of all dates and events, including site visit and bid opening date, will be available in the solicitation. All interested bidders (prime contractors & subcontractors) should register at http://www.febbizopps.gov so that others will know of your interest in participating in this procurement and for automatic receipt of updates and/or amendments. A bidders Mailing List WILL NOT be prepared nor distributed by the Contracting Officer, as it is the bidders responsibility to register at fedbizopps website. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all bid documents and acknowledging any amendments, and should re-visit the FBO website periodically to check for any modifications to this notice, updates, or amendments without further notice from the VA. Prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representations and certifications at http://www.orca.bpn.gov, and be registered in the Central Contractor Registrations (CCR) database at http/www.ccr.gov, and be registered at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov prior to award of a contract.
