- Description
- This is a request for information only. Your response is not an offer and does not commit the Government to pay any costs incurred in preparation of any submission to this market survey, or to contract for supplies/services. The Marine Corps System Command (MCSC) is conducting a market survey to identify domestic vendors who are currently manfacturing or capable of manufacturing, fully functional foreign-model weapons. Request for Information (RFI) is to identify domestic vendors who are currently using manufacturing "best practice" processes (e.g., ISO 9001: 2008, Quality Management Systems) in the production of safe, reliable, and fully-functional foreign-model weapons. The foreign-model weapons being sought are identified below: Weapon System Origin Country 1. AK-47 Model 1960 Poland 2. Kalashnikov's Machine HungaryGun Modernized (PKM)3. Ruchnoy Pulemyot Degtyaryova Poland(RPD Model 7) 4. Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG-7V) Bulgaria 5. Fabrique Nationale de Herstal Belgium 6. Fusil Automatique Lger (FN/FAL) PakistanG3A3 Battle Rifle7. Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragunova (SVD) RussiaWith exception of the RPG-7V, vendors must be capable of supplying up to six (6) magazines, one (1) blank firing adaptor (BFA), one (1) cleaning kit, and one (1) sling per system. Vendors that may have partial or complete technical data packages (TDPs) for the systems indicated should submit documentation outlining the status of their respective TDPs. The weapons mentioned above must be capable of live-fire and have parts and components that are interchangeable with other like systems. Vendors should also advise how long they would be able to sustain the weapons with components, repair parts, and subassemblies. The weapons identified as potential candidates must have the same form, fit, and function as the foreign equivalents for the countries of origin indicated (e.g., automatic trigger where applicable). Companies possessing the capability noted above are encouraged and invited to submit a statement of capability and pricing materials. Responses must include the following: corporate business size, stating whether the company is 8(a) certified, disabled veteran-owned, veteran owned, woman owned, HUB Zone, Native American, or other Small Business Administration approved designations and earliest delivery date for the products to be delivered. MCSC will use the results of this announcement to determine what capabilities exist in the marketplace to fulfill a potential requirement outlined above. Interested firms are requested to submit information on the above listed items no later than 3:00pm EST, 17 February 2010. Interested sources should send all capability statements via email to marian.beeman@usmc.mil.
