- The proposed contract action is for an acquisition for which the Defense Distribution Center Acquisition Operations (DDC J7-AB) intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority FAR 6.302-1 for repair services for two Fantuzzi container handlers located at the Defense Distribution Depot Hill, Utah (DDPH). The type of repair work requires an authorized Fantuzzi service provider to tear down, troubleshoot, and repair major mechanical problems and to bring the two machines back to normal working conditions. Repairs required: Fantuzzi model #CS 45KL DLA number 0X0340 serial number 500665 1.Repair transmission. Reverse is slipping. Serial #5NY00692 2.Repair back up alarm. 3.Adjust and reset left rear tire steering sleeve. 4.Several of the hydraulic hoses are showing signs of rubbing and need to have anti chafe tape installed before they fail. Replace hoses that are deemed unsafe or unreliable. 5.Repack rear steering bearings. 6.Install flow control valves on the parking brake. 7.Install extension for the oil dip stick. 8.Replace hydraulic sight glasses. 9.Install air pressure valves on all 6 tires. 10.Mark tires with paint to indicate movement as a safety feature. 11.Mark lug nuts to indicate movement or loosening. 12.Repair leaking pump to filter housing couple hose. 13.Repair broken couple bolt that has broken off on line clamp. 14.Repair leaking auto leveling cylinder hose. 15.Replace expansion tank main hose for cooling system. Fantuzzi model #CS 45KL DLA number 0X0341 serial number 500666 1.Troubleshoot and repair inoperable boom. 2.Replace boom indicator light cable. 3.Replace back up alarm. 4.Mark tires with paint to indicate movement as a safety feature. 5.Mark lug nuts to show operator if they become loose. 6.Repack steering bearings on rear wheels. 7.Adjust and reset left rear tire steering sleeve. 8.Install flow control valves on the parking brake. 9.Install air pressure valves on all 6 tires. 10.Install an extension for the oil dip stick. 11.Repair hydraulic pump fluid leak. 12.Repair leaking filter housing hoses that have slow leaks. 13.Replace expansion tank main hose for cooling system. 14.Replace hydraulic sight glasses. Fantuzzi Noell USA, Inc. St. Charles, IL 60174 is the only authorized Fantuzzi service provider for the state of Utah. The two Fantuzzi container handlers have had previous repairs performed by third parties, but the major repairs required consultation with Fantuzzi to try to help sight unseen to help trouble shoot the problems. DDC J7-AB intends to only solicit and negotiate a contract to repair the two Fantuzzi container handlers with Fantuzzi Noell USA, Inc. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to Free Trade Agreements. Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, material, equipment and accessories necessary to repair the two Fantuzzi Container handlers at DDHU. Period of Performance: Contractor shall complete work within 5 business days after starting the repair on a Fantuzzi Container Handler. Only one Fantuzzi container handler can be worked on at a time due to the handlers are mission critical. Working Hours: Normal hours of work shall be between 0530 and 1530 Mountain Time, Monday through Friday excluding any Government holidays. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 811310. The small business size standard is $7,000,000. All responsible sources may respond by submitting capability statement, proposal, or quotation for the repair of the Fantuzzi container handlers by February 16, 2010 12:00 PM Eastern to Alan Noble, Defense Distribution Center, Acquisition Operations (DDC J7-AB), 2001 Mission Drive, J Avenue Building 404, New Cumberland PA 17070; fax 717-770-7591, email Alan.Noble@dla.mil for consideration by the agency. If no responses are received by February 16, 2010 at 12:00 PM Eastern to determine whether other qualified sources are more advantageous to the Government, a purchase order will be negotiated and awarded to Fantuzzi Noell USA, Inc.
