Description
RECOVERY THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THISOPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZED UNDER THEAMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009. THE WORK IS SPONSORED BY THE SCIENCEMISSION DIRECTORATE FOR THE EARTH SCIENCE PROGRAM UNDER THE UNIVERSITY AFILIATED RESEARCHCENTER (UARC) CONTRACT NAS2-03144 WITH THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA.NASA/Ames Research Center (ARC) intends to issue Task Order 088-R entitled, EarthScience Instrumentation Development - Airborne Network Infrastructure to the Universityof California under UARC contract NAS2-03144. This task is a research and development effort to provide systems engineering and systemintegration to demonstrate a real-time airborne science data network that creates thepotential for mission scientists to monitor and direct multiple platforms (manned andUnmanned Aircraft Systems or UASs) interactively while observing the data as it isacquired during an experiment. The capability to connect multiple real-time data streamsfrom airborne and on-orbit assets will result in more efficient use of assets, producemore useful measurements during multi-aircraft science campaigns, and further the utilityof NASA science data in understanding Earth system processes. The product of this taskwill be a prototype aircraft data network that can be used to transfer instrument data innear real-time from aircraft, satellites, and the ground.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. This announcement will not result in a Request for Proposal; this announcement is forinformational purposes only. Questions and/or concerns may be submitted in writing, viae-mail, to the following government point of contact. Mark.E.Lefler@nasa.govAn Ombudsman has been appointed.
