Description
This is a sole source synopsis that provides notification of the 30th Contracting Squadron's intent to extend contract F04684-02-C-0008, Aerospace Support Services Contract (ASSC) for a period of six (6) months. The period of performance for this extension will be from 1 April 2010 through 30 September 2010. This extension is needed to satisfy the Wing's ASSC requirement until the award of ASSC solicitation; FA4610-07-R-0007 can be completed. Not awarding a six-month extension would cause serious injury to the Government. The extension will be performed by the incumbent contractor, United Paradyne Corporation (UPC), 2415 Professional Parkway, Santa Maria, CA 93455. A competitive set-aside was awarded on 1 April 2002 to provide consolidated Aerospace Support Services for the 30th Space Wing (30 SW), Vandenberg AFB, CA. Services include support for operational programs which include Expeditionary Aerospace Force (EAF), United States space lift programs, airfield operations and future aerospace plane activities, Military, individual Corporate or civilian Contractor. The ASSC also includes all authorized mission and program requirements for operations utilizing Western Range Major Range Test Facility Base (MRTFB) support and Commercial Space activities. This requirement implements an integrated Program Management/Administration approach to provide Operations, Maintenance and Support Services capability for: Unconventional Propellants (UP), Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL), Transient Aircraft Maintenance (TAM), Aerospace Ground Equipment Maintenance (AGE), and Aerospace Maintenance Operations Control (AMOC) facility maintenance, Emergency and Special Event Services (ESES) and Fleet Management/Maintenance of all vehicles under the control of the contractor. The extension will provide for the continuation of uninterrupted services of the Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) operations described above. This six-month extension of services is pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements, " as implemented by FAR 6.302- A determination by the Government not to compete this contract extension period based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Written comments or questions regarding this notice must be e-mailed to Aimee Hamrick at e-mail address aimee.hamrick@vandenberg.af.mil
